Phnom Penh Police Commissioner Orders Review of Traffic Police Activities

PHNOM PENH: Deputy Commissioner General and Phnom Penh Municipal Police Commissioner, Lt. Gen. Sar Thet, has ordered the Deputy Commissioner for Road Traffic to conduct proper education of the city's traffic police.

During the Friday, 31 March 2023, meeting to review the achievements made by the Phnom Penh Police in 2022, and set the work direction for 2023, Lt. Gen. Sar Thet told the Deputy Commissioner for Road Traffic to pay close attention to educating law enforcement officers, in accordance with the road traffic plan, to teach them right usage of gestures and appropriate words.

The Phnom Penh Municipal Police Commissioner made these remarks at a time when many citizens have shared incidents on social media of Phnom Penh Municipal Traffic Police using inappropriate language and exhibiting other rude behavior with members of the public.
